Assessment Criteria and Guidelines
At AIMS School, we follow a Continuous Assessment System to evaluate students’ academic progress throughout the session. Students are assessed through regular tests, class participation, assignments, quizzes, and other performance-based activities to ensure consistent learning and overall academic development.

To ensure continuous academic progress, tests and assessments are conducted regularly throughout the session. Fast Remedial Classes begin from Grade 3, and upon completion of one class level, the next level is introduced immediately to maximize learning time and help students achieve the required learning objectives.
- For Grade 3 onwards, teachers will announce the test date, subject, and syllabus in class. Students must record these details in the Assessment Schedule provided in their Home Assignment Diary. The schedule will also be shared via the class WhatsApp group.
- Checked test papers will be returned to students after evaluation.
- Parents are required to sign the Assessment Schedule:
Sign 1: Upon receiving the test schedule.
Sign 2: Upon receiving the checked test paper. - If your child does not receive the checked test paper within 8 days of the announced test date, please contact the school at 0334-7284214.
- Parents are responsible for keeping all test papers safely for future reference.
- The school maintains official subject-wise academic records for every student, which may be shared with parents upon request.

To ensure continuous academic progress, Fast Remedial Class (FRC) students are assessed regularly based on the topics covered in class.
- Regular assessments are conducted throughout the session.
- Re-assessments (retests) are not conducted in cases of absence, failure, or low performance.
Academic evaluation follows the N–1 / N–2 Assessment Policy:
- o N = Total number of assessments conducted.
- o The lowest 1 or 2 assessment scores (including absence or failure, where applicable) may be excluded from the final evaluation, depending on the subject weightage and the total number of assessments. The number of assessments excluded is determined by the school management.
Students absent from an assessment or examination will be marked absent/fail for that assessment, and no makeup test will be arranged.
Parents are requested to ensure their child attends school regularly and arrives on time, as retests are not offered.

At AIMS School, we follow a comprehensive assessment system that evaluates students’ academic performance, classroom participation, and overall development. Rather than relying on a single test, students are assessed through a variety of activities throughout each term to ensure a fair and accurate evaluation of their progress.
Assessment Components
Students are assessed through the following:
- Written Assessments – Tests based on topics, lessons, chapters, and units covered in the syllabus.
- Classwork – Completion, accuracy, and participation in classroom activities.
- Oral Assessment – viva, reading, Dictations and verbal presentations (where applicable).
- Notebook & Handwriting – Neatness, organization, and maintenance of notebooks. Five (5) marks per term are allocated for copy maintenance.
- Home Assignments – Regular homework, class assignments, and timely submission of tasks.
- Project Work – Assessment based on creativity, presentation, relevance of content, timely submission, bibliography/references, acknowledgements, and oral presentation.
Our Assessment Philosophy
Our assessment system is designed to encourage continuous learning, responsibility, and academic excellence. By evaluating students through multiple assessment methods, we ensure a balanced and comprehensive reflection of each student’s knowledge, skills, and overall progress.

Student progress is evaluated through continuous assessments conducted throughout the academic session. A detailed Assessment Report is issued after each assessment, showing subject-wise marks and performance.
The term reports are prepared as follows:
- Mid-Term Report: Based on the combined performance of Assessment 1 and Assessment 2.
- Final Term Report: Based on the combined performance of Assessment 3 and Assessment 4.
Each report provides parents with a clear overview of their child’s academic progress, strengths, and areas requiring improvement, ensuring continuous monitoring and support throughout the learning journey.

Promotion Policy

Students are required to meet the minimum academic requirements in all subjects. However, successful completion of the Core Subjects (English, Mathematics, and Urdu) is mandatory for promotion to the next class.
Students who do not achieve the required standard in one or more Core Subjects may be placed under academic review, required to attend additional remedial support, or may not be promoted to the next grade, in accordance with the school’s academic policies.

At AIMS School Fast Remedial Classes, student progress is measured through regular assessments, class tests, quizzes, and examinations. Performance is graded as follows:

- Students securing 50% or above will be considered successful and may be promoted to the next level, subject to the school’s academic evaluation.
- A student who fails in one Core or Non-Core subject may still be considered for promotion; however, they will not be eligible for any academic rank, position, or merit award.
- In cases of serious illness, contagious disease, or absence during assessments/examinations, promotion or detention will be decided after reviewing the student’s previous academic performance. Parents must submit a written application supported by a valid medical certificate.
Our Fast Remedial Program focuses on continuous learning, regular evaluation, and individual academic improvement, ensuring every student receives the guidance needed to achieve long-term success.

Home Work and Diary Policy

- Homework mainly consists of reading, learning, revision, and practice work.
- Written homework may be assigned whenever required for additional practice and reinforcement.
- Students who remain absent must complete all missed classwork and homework within the given time.
- Parents may collect or copy the missed work between 10:00 AM and 11:00 AM (Monday to Thursday) after taking a prior appointment.
- The school and teachers are not responsible for covering or reteaching work missed due to absence.
- Homework submitted after the due date will be marked as late but will not be checked or evaluated.
- Students who repeatedly fail to complete homework may be restricted from participating in P.E. classes or co-curricular activities until their pending work is completed.
Note: Regular homework completion is essential for academic progress in the AIMS School Fast Remedial Classes program.

- Homework and important updates are shared daily through the official class WhatsApp Group.
- Parents who prefer a written record may ask their child to copy the daily homework into a Homework Diary. Teachers write the homework on the classroom whiteboard every day.
- Parents are requested to check the WhatsApp Group regularly and ensure homework is completed on time.

Parent Teacher Meeting

- AIMS School Fast Remedial Classes conducts at least four (4) Parent–Teacher Meetings (PTMs) during the academic session to discuss each student’s academic progress and overall development.
- Parents are strongly encouraged to attend all PTMs, as they play an important role in their child’s success.
- Assessment papers and result files may be taken home by parents for review.
- If both parents are unable to attend, they may authorize another family member by providing a signed authorization letter along with the student’s School ID Card.
- Any discrepancy in the result must be reported to the school within 3 working days of the result declaration. Requests received after this period will not be entertained.
- Direct communication with teachers is not permitted outside scheduled PTMs.
- For any concern, complaint, or discussion regarding a student, parents are requested to contact or meet the School Management, who will coordinate with the concerned teacher if required.
- Parents are requested to attend PTMs on the scheduled date and time to ensure effective communication and timely academic support.
